On Monday, France charged a suspect with last week’s killing of three Kurds in Paris.
The charges came as hundreds of people marched in the French capital to pay tribute to the victims.
Judicial sources quoted by France 24 said the judge charged the suspect with murder and attempted murder because of race, ethnicity, nationality, or religion, as well as for the unauthorised procurement and possession of a weapon.
The 69-year-old returned to police custody on Sunday after nearly a day in a mental hospital.

According to reports, he confessed to hating immigrants.
Amid the shock over the fatal attack, Turkey summoned France’s ambassador over what it called “black propaganda” by Kurdish activists during a march to mourn three people killed in the Paris shooting.
Turkish officials are reported to be uneasy after some marched in Paris with flags of the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) or suggested that Turkey had a link to the shooting.
