Guyanese Killed By Cab Driver, Pal

CaribWorldNews, QUEENS, NY, Fri. Aug. 20, 2010: Two Queens, NY young men have been slapped with second-degree murder and robbery in the murder of a Guyanese national.

Deevan Jagmarine, 21, a driver at Royal Car & Limo Services, and Alex Gobardhan, 19, were charged just days after killing Ramnarain Matadin, 58.

Matadin was reportedly picked up Jagmarine in a livery taxi service at the Golden Arrow Sports Bar on 101st Ave. in Ozone Park, Queens, Sunday night.

But instead of taking the drunken grandfather home, the two beat the  passenger to death and dumped him on a Queens street, police said.

Police said surveillance video showed three men getting out of the livery cab, but only two of them stepped back inside. The video also captured the cab`s license plate, leading to the arrests. Matadin`s belongings – a wallet, a gold bracelet and a cell phone – were found at the suspects` Queens homes, cops said.
