Government ensures jobs lost due to pandemic are almost fully recovered

Formal hired workers exceed February 2020 jobs level To reach the total number of formal and informal jobs that existed before the pandemic, only 10,000 would be missing, according to data presented by the Minister of Economy, Planning, and Development (Mepyd), Miguel Ceara Hatton. In the first quarter of 2020, formally and informally employed persons stood at 4,605.9 million, and in the third quarter of 2021, employed persons reached 4,595,000, for -0.24%. The most drastic fall in employed persons was registered in the second quarter of 2020, when it stood at 4,246,700 unemployed persons, for -7.79 less than the beginning of 2020.
