Dominican Republic eyes independent elections body


Santo Domingo.- As the preparations to form the new Central Electoral Board (JCE) intensify, the ruling party and opposition parties spoke out in favor of the body being made up of independent people, without political ties. The positions were assumed by president, Luis Abinader, as well as the president of the People’s Force, Leonel Fernández, and other political leaders, at a time when the special commission of the Senate reported the work to select the members of the JCE.
