Attorney General arrests two brothers of former Dominican Republic President Danilo Medina


SANTO DOMINGO (Dominican Republic).- The Office of the Special Prosecutor for the Persecution of Administrative Corruption (Pepca) began at dawn this Sunday the arrest of a group of former officials, as well as privileged suppliers and front men who took advantage of family ties with political power to accumulate fortunes during the past term of government. Among the first detainees is Francisco Pagán, former director of the Office of State Works Supervising Engineers (Oisoe). Also Carmen Magalys Medina Sánchez, former vice president of the Patrimonial Fund of Reformed Companies (Fonper), and her brother Juan Alexis Medina Sánchez.
